ある日寄ったタイレストランで見つけたメニュー。
トムヤンラーメン。
きっとトムヤンクンの濃厚なスープに麺が絡んで、ものすごいことになっているんじゃないか、と私の想像は膨らみ、迷わず注文しました。
食べているだけで汗が出てきて、こりゃ夏向きのメニューですね。
私の大好きなコリアンダー（シラントロ、香草）も入ってるし。
スープはかなり薬味が効いています。
しょうが、月桂樹の葉など、スープに使われていて、エスニックムード＆テイスト満点。反面、ラーメンと一緒にそれらの薬味が器に入ってサーブされるので、よけなくてはならず、ちょっと減点対象。
麺は妙にツルリンとしていましたが、もう少し太くてもいいのでは。量も若干少なめです。
なにはともあれ、トムヤン好きな人には嬉しい一品です。
そういえば、３年前のこの時期にカナダへ旅行したとき、トロントの少し東の湖畔の町で、「タイ・ビルマ料理」のレストランを見つけ、トムヤンを食しました。
そちらのほうが、ワイルドな味つけでしたが、迫力があってＧｏｏでした。
日本人に対しては、あれだけの味はなかなか一般受けしないかも知れないですね。
