社会派ネタ。
ついさっきまで「報道ステーション」でETC（高速道路料金支払いシステム）のニュースをやっていた。
高くて不便なETC方式を日本がなぜ選択したのか、天下り団体の存在が高い費用の元凶では・・・という内容。
私も車での出張が日常茶飯事で、高速もよく使う。ETCは使っていないが、問題だらけだ、とさすがに思う。
まず、高くて、取り付けに時間がかかる。
そして、すべての車がETC対応ではないので、料金所の出入りがむしろ危険。対応車と非対応車のスピードに差があるのだ。非ETC者の私は、はっきり言ってコワイ。
「報道ステーション」でETCの比較として出していたのが、私の愛するカナダの有料（優良）道路、
「ETR（EXPRESS TOLL ROUTE)」
だ。私もよくお世話になった。
ETRは、一言で言えば「機器入らずで、ただ通るだけ」の有料高速道路だ。
入り口で止まることさえ不要。私の通過スピードはいつも１００KM以上♪
しかも、いつも交通の流れがスムーズ！
料金はあとでクレジットカードに請求される。初めて通った後だけ、請求書が来て、ちょっと登録などの手間が要るだけだ。
この道路はトロントの郊外にあり、全長１０８KM。ナイアガラからトロントに行くときなどは、とっても便利。
技術も進んでいて、トロント郊外より混むところがもっとある日本で、こういったシステムがないのは、なぜだろう。テレビに出ていた国土交通省の方に理由を聞きたくなった。

またカナダに行きたくなった！
こんなことかいてる間に、今度はフジテレビのニュースでETCの特集が始まった。いいぞ、もっと追求してくれ！
